2025 Andorra/Barcelona Ski Trip

Skiers in Andorra

In February 2025, we traveled to the Pyrenees and beyond for a unique blend of mountain adventure and urban exploration. The trip began in Andorra, a small country nestled between France and Spain, where our group stayed in Soldeu at the Sport Hotel—a charming alpine-style hotel with modern comforts.

Guests enjoyed fabulous breakfast and dinner buffets that left no one hungry, and appreciated the convenience of having the gondola and ski lockers just across the street, offering easy access to the expansive Grandvalira ski area, which features over 140 slopes and 215 km of ski trails, plus off-piste options. The weather cooperated beautifully, with a couple days of fresh powder and occasional fog that was easy to escape by moving to another area of the mountain. According to one traveler: “I think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed the skiing.”

During our stay, many in the group also visited Andorra la Vella, the country’s capital, known for duty-free shopping, local dining, and even outdoor Salvador Dalí sculptures.

After five days in the mountains, we continued to Barcelona, Spain for a two-night stay at the Avenida Palace, a centrally located hotel with a rooftop pool and panoramic views—including the stunning Sagrada Familia. From there, guests explored the old city, visited Casa Batlló (designed by Antoni Gaudí), and wandered along Rambla de Catalunya, lined with open-air dining and boutique shopping. A few even spotted the famously quirky Caganer figurines hidden throughout the city.

It was a memorable trip filled with great snow, culture, food, and laughter—an experience well worth adding to your bucket list.
